Self esteem has many effects on what you do. If you don’t think that you can do something, then you automatically from the beginning put a handicap on yourself. It lowers the chances of you being able to do it. On the other hand if you believe that you can and that you will do some thing you are more willing to push yourself to do it and you will have a much better chance of doing it.
I used to be one of those shy girls that stuck to my-self and just focused on doing good in school. That was until I had a teacher that one day kept me after class and told me that I would do great in my future but if I wanted to really matter I needed to stop letting everyone push me around and stand up for myself. Always give 110% no matter what and stop caring about what other people think of me.
That teacher is one of my biggest hero’s I listened to what he had to say and I put it into action and now I am this first person in my family to EVER graduate high school. I have five different Certificates that I have earned and I will have my associate’s degree in just a few months.

5.2 Impressions
Impressions are a big part of today’s world. You star at an early age not even really knowing it. You start in grade school you pick your friends on how they treat you. You like or dislike your teacher by they way they act and do things. Then later on its more like stareo times the shy people are normally good in school, the clowns are always trying to make people laugh and don’t do so good. The preps are well know and normally not very nice to anyone outside there group.
It is based on the way that you dress to like if your going down the side of the road and you see a dude walking along with their pants around there ankles you normally assume-gangster. You see someone in a suit you thing well of or self confident.
I believe that everyone dose it to some degree, it is just the human way to start to get to know someone and then it is up to them to prove you wrong or prove you right.

5.1 Coping
In reviewing the text on coping with stress there seems to be a very long list of ways that people can, and do, deal with stressful situations. Anywhere from avoidance to confrontation to everything in between. Coping is something that some people take years to do. Whether it is a loss of a loved one or being abused as a child. Everyone dose not cope the some way, some people it only take a short while well others go one for years and some never learn to cope.
For coping from a lost loved one or friend I find that it is best to think of it as, they wouldn’t want you to be upset or hurt. They would rather you be happy and to remember all the good time and the good things they did.
For abuse I believe that the first step is to forgiving or accepting that there was nothing you could have done and that they are the ones that are wrong. Not necessarily forgiving a person to there face, It could be forgiving someone only to yourself.

4.1 Stress Chart
The concept of stress is a theory of what stress is and how it comes in different ways. A chart in the psychology book has different events in it that can affect a person positively and negatively. The book tell us that stress comes in different forms and from different people. This can also be caused by someone close to you or even from someone you don’t really know, and this is why stress is hard to deal with. No one can know when things will happen but when they do it may affect a person more emotionally than others. The chart in the book list things that can be very stressful and very non stressful, in a persons life. Like for an example, getting a new job can be exciting for someone because they think of it as a new beginning of things; however starting a new job can also be stressful to others, because they feel pressured to make a good impression. Stress can be a number of things but the affects of it can be different for everyone, and each situation can be different for all. The concept a stress can't really be determined only because stress affects everyone differently and different things affect people in different ways.

3.3 Stress

Not everyone gets stressed out about the same things. Something that is stressful to one person may be just as easy as pie for someone else.
Some people get stressed about everything while others only get stressed out about certain things, my aunt for example is always stressed out about everything no matter what it is and my mom only gets stressed out about certain things. I think the key is to find what stresses YOU out and find a way to make it not so stressful for you, or figure out why it is stressful for you. You cant fix something if you don’t know why it is.

3.4 Aspects of the family affect individual happiness
I fully agree with the fact that certain aspects of a family affect the happiness of on individual. For example if one of the parents are not happy and is always taking it out on a child, then the child is insecure and not happy and the other parent is not happy because they cant do anything about it or they are the reason the other partner is not happy and so now we have everyone in the family not happy just because one person is not happy about something. Another example is if families are keeping secrets, then that puts pressure one some family members because it gets hard to remember what you can and cant say and if there are lies involved then its hard to keep the stories strait.

Family Secrets
We watched a movie on family secrets and family issues and that really struck home. Some of the stuff that the guy said on there are things that I have been trying to drill into my husbands head! He thinks that I’m wired and that kind of stuff does not effect our daughter because she is to young . What I have been trying to tell him is that we need to work on that kind of stuff now that way we do not have this issue when she is older! And that is really dose affect her right now because she gets upset ant harsh tones and yelling. She may not know what it is about but she still knows that something is wrong! I just wish that I could get him to sit down and watch the movie that way he knows that its not just me and maybe he will understand it a little better!
